Welcome to Dance Tidbit’s –
Today we are going to talk a little about CBMP. CBMP means Contra Body Movement Position – which is a foot position when the moving foot is placed on or across the line of the supporting foot.
CBMP occurs frequently in Tango and in all Promenade figures, like when you step across in the second step of the promenade. CBMP is often confused with CBM (Contra Body Movement) which is a body position. CBMP reminds us how important brushing action is for partnership, balance and control.
We hope you enjoyed this dance tidbit. Remember that CBMP is a foot position and it will help avoid mixing up these two similar anagrams. Let us know what your dance questions are and we will add them to our Dance Tidbits for you.
It’s a Great Day to Dance!
