If you are on social media at all, you will see what women fantasize about. You may think women want a big hunk of a man with a six-pack and gigantic biceps like this:
Women loved Chris Helms just as much (I posit it made women love him even more) like this:
Now you may say, just dressing a well-built dude as a nerd does not make him any less a handsome guy with an amazing body. Let me throw this one at you. Another man women love is:
Which versions of this man do you think women generally find more attractive? Let me answer that question with another question: Which show is he taking on the road? And who is going to be his primary audience? The movie was arguably not good. The character he played was historically not good. But the musical numbers were inspiring.
You may say women love the Greatest Showman more because they knew Wolverine is somewhere in there as well. Okay, cynics, I hear you mumbling that he is getting too old to continue with the sculpted hero character, and he is just capitalizing on his most recent success. So I counter with these gentlemen:
And I mean gentleman. Cary Grant has found his successors in these dapper gents. They are certainly easy on the eyes, but if you want to know what women love about these guys, go online and take a look at the “Hey, Girl” and “Hello, Darling” memes to mention a few of the posts about them to see how women feel about these guys.
What ALL of these men have in common and what women like most about them is that they do not seem to take themselves too seriously. Whether they have the body of a god or are brainy or look good in a suit, they all seem to have a sense of humor about themselves and the attention they receive. They seem to appreciate the people around them. And many women feel that if they were with one of these guys, they could feel safe and that they would have their full attention.
Quotes like this reinforce these impressions:
“This generation has lost the true meaning of romance. There are so many songs that disrespect women. You can’t treat the woman you love as a piece of meat. You should treat your love like a princess. Give her love songs, something with real meaning. Maybe I’m old fashioned but to respect the woman you love should be a priority.–Tom Hiddleston
What you need to do, gentlemen, if you want to compete with the likes of these actors is, in short, to be a gentleman. Be kind. Be attentive. Be humble. Don’t worry about being cool. Be silly. Be real. Put her in your spotlight. Treat her like a princess. Become her prince charming.
One way, perhaps, the best way, to become more of a gentleman, give a woman your full attention, and get the confidence of everyone in the room is to learn to dance. It is no coincidence that Hugh Jackman, Ryan Gosling, and Tom Hiddleston are all fans of dancing.
You are the reality that absolutely can compete with the fantasy of any of these heart-throbs. Let go of worrying what others might think. Embrace the freedom of dance. Learn to connect better, lead better. Turn your attention away from yourself to your partner. Learning to dance is a way to focus on all of these. You will become more attractive to those around you: more fun, more confident, more lovable.
Don’t worry about being the main attraction. It’s about being the frame for her picture. By putting your partner first, by shining the light on her, by caring more about her than your image, you can find:
