This years 7th Annual Southern Heat Ballroom Championships hosted by National Dance Clubs was an amazing event full of dance, entertainment, and tons of enjoyment. The Murfreesboro Post said, ” it made it feel like “Dancing with the Stars” was right here in the heart of the ‘Boro this weekend.”
Evolution of Dance was the inspirational theme during this year’s regional competition. Throughout the event, the Southern Heat participants were able to view the various time periods of dance and how dance has transformed over time. From Minuet in the classical time period to the cultural African dancing all the way to today’s hip hop, each dance was expressed using the emotion, grace, and poise of it’s own time period. Competitors traveled in from various parts of Tennessee and Florida ready to Bring the Heat and dance all weekend! Southern Heat was full of high energy, competition, and loud endless cheering. The event ended with a grand performance by Nazar Norov & Irina Kudryashova, United States National American Rhythm Vice Champions and American Rhythm Silver Medalists! We would like to thank all our competitors for joining us in making this year’s Southern Heat such a wonderful event!
